Chelsea O’Day-Navis, MA, LPC, CCTP

I believe that every person is fundamentally good and well. I believe that every person has a powerful story to tell. In the work of counseling, we do not achieve or earn our wellness, we recover it. My passion is to help folks bravely move the barriers that prevent them from experiencing what is already there: clarity, ease, and wellness.
As a therapist specialized in Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology, I will guide you through difficult experiences with mindfulness, compassion, and curiosity. My approach blends Eastern and Western psychology, promoting the health and wellness that I know is inherent within each and every person. Yes, including You.
I received a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University in 2017. My undergraduate degree (and first love) is Social Work, which I obtained from West Virginia University in 2013. My specific master’s degree training is rooted in a three year program; Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology.
For 5 years, I worked for a non-profit organization serving folks who face cognitive and developmental challenges and disabilities, Autistic folks/folks with Autism, and adults with traumatic brain injuries. In this organization I have worn many hats in various departments. I celebrate neurodiversity and reject the medical perspectives of neurological “normalcy.”
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I am passionate about providing trauma-informed therapy for each of my clients. Although not my main techniques, I have training in Cognitive as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Currently, I am most inspired by my studies on Internal Family Systems and frequently incorporate this trauma-informed approach into our sessions.
