Training sessions are for anyone but specifically community members, organizational leaders, front-line staff, contractors and/or other stakeholders.
Our training aims to foster an inclusive work environment where all employees, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, feel respected and valued. Such an environment can help reduce discrimination and bias.
The training serves to educate participants about the 2-SLGBTQ+ community, its history, and the unique challenges that its members may face. This knowledge can lead to increased empathy and understanding. Studies have shown that employees are more engaged and productive in a diverse and inclusive workplace. They are more likely to feel comfortable and satisfied in their jobs, leading to lower turnover rates.
We provide training options that cater to your needs. That includes the location and time of your training. Training can be done virtually or at your workspace. Any group of 15 or less can be invited to attend training at Grand Rapids Pride Center’s location on Atlas Avenue.

After the training, you’ll get a survey from your trainer asking how we did and anything we can do to improve our training process.Our minimum price for an organization is $500 per training. However, we are more than willing to chat with you to discuss your specific needs. This includes the consultation meeting, your customized training, the actual training, and any follow-up assistance you may need. This fee applies for up to 2 hours of training.
Training fees are used to cover the cost of our staff’s time as we plan your training with you, the actual training, and any follow-up assistance you may need.
Please note that we do recommend a minimum of 30 days’ notice when scheduling so that we may provide the best possible training experience for you and your team!
