A Safe & Social  space

For people with disabilities

ABOUT DISABILITY GROUP

This group aims to be a welcoming and supportive space where 2-SLGBTQ+ and Disability experiences overlap. This is not a formal therapy group, but a place to connect with others and engage in mutual support and community care, make friends, and have a good time in an environment centered on and celebrating you.

Members of the group should themselves be part of the 2-SLGBTQ+ community, and identify as Disabled or having a disability, but invited non-2-SLGBTQ+ Disabled caregivers or support persons are welcome if accompanying a member.

2-SLGBTQ+ encompasses Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Pansexual, Transgender, Non-Binary, Ace/Aro, or other identities that are not straight and cisgender.

Disabled or People with Disabilities encompasses crip, sick, or mad, Deaf and HoH, Blind, neurodivergent, cognitive and mood disorders, mental illness; intellectual disability; or other disabilities, whether medically diagnosed or self-diagnosed.

Currently, this group is only held virtually. We intend to bring this back to in-person meetings as soon as we are able.
